Happy Birthday my husband!
Today is Mike's birthday. After all the eating, drinking and cooking in class last night, we decided to take it easy on the actual big day. So we bought and made our version of Roscoe's chicken and waffles for brunch. Roscoe is one of Mike's favorite place to eat in LA.
To work off all the grease, we went blading by the Seawall. It was fantastical! As we haven't blade in ages, we were so afraid we forgot how to. But I guess it's like riding a bike. Once you learned it, you will always know it. After blading, we wanted to enjoy every last bit of the sun for the day. So we drove down to the Spanish Bank and just chill on the beach. But we didn't end up staying long b/c it got kind of chilly and windy.Since it has been a long eventful day, we spent the rest of the night relaxing in front of the TV. While we were watching Saturday Night Live, I realized the most important part of Mike's B-day is missing. His birthday cake! So i quickly went into the kitchen and tried to make something similar to a cake, where he can blow his candles and make his wish on. (FYI: i did thought of buying a real birthday cake a day ago, but it's only the 2 of us, plus i don't want to force ourselves to finish a cake by ourselves) Then I remembered the waffles we had this morning. Viola! I made him a Milo vanilla ice-cream sandwich. It was a delicious sent off for his BIG day.
