the breakup..
A close friend of mine just ended a long standing relationship. Given our current geographical distance, I became his (the ex bf) substitute as her daily phone companion. Throughout our friendship, we have always communicate mainly via email. We don't really talk on the phone much as we always lived far apart. But once we do, we would rack up a hefty phone bill. For the last few days, I have talked to her quite a bit. It almost feels like we talk more now than all the years we've known each other combine. Our conversation is everything but boring. We would go on and on psycho-analyzing people that we know (or don't know), but in reality we are the two who have issues. I sometimes wonder why we didn't talk more often on the phone throughout all these years. Maybe because now we have grown and truly understand the importance of the people around us. We've learn to engage and commit ourselves to maintain these connections. Regardless of how or why, i'm glad we are becoming more of a regular in each others lives.
